Winner of Collaboration in Business Awards 2012

10 December 2012

Horticulture Wales has created a new award designed to celebrate the initiative and innovative ideas of individuals, organisations or businesses who work together within either food or ornamental horticulture.

The Collaboration in Business Award is open to groups of two or more businesses who work together providing mutual benefit and efficient supply chains.

The Award was made for the first time this year at the Royal Welsh Winter Fair on 26th November and presented by the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and European Programmes, Alun Davies AM

Puffin Produce, Springfields Fresh Produce, Brooksgrove Farm and Hook Farm were awarded the Horticulture Wales Collaboration in Business Award.   The businesses in this supply chain were nominated in recognition of their initiative and innovative methods of working together to supply daffodils to 25 ASDA stores in Wales under the brand “Blas y Tir”.

The judges were particularly impressed with how the businesses worked together “to ensure that there is continuous line of communication and products are delivered to customers”.

Runners up were Peter Broughton Ltd with P & P Fresh Prepared Veg for their collaboration.

The ceremony was held at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells in conjunction with the Lantra Learner Awards.

The award will soon be open for nominations for 2013.
